Abe Hampton

Abe Hampton

Abe Hampton is the most versatile, inspiring, and underrated musician in the NY music circle. His style is slick, his sound is smart, and he’s also related to the late great Lionel Hampton, so obviously talent is an understatement for him.

This NY born and bred musician made his debut in Catholic churches in the Harlem area being organist/choral conductor for many choirs. He then moved on from church to secular which is where he then found his true voice as a musician. He has performed and toured in many different countries with several well known artists such as Melba Moore, Kirk Whalum, Tramaine Hawkins, Stephanie Mills, Kym Mazelle, The Drifters, Bilal, The Commitments (performed with the Commitments for George W. Bush on St. Patrick’s Day 2005), Taylor Dayne and, has also backed the in house/band of London’s famous 10 rooms club(Angie Stone, Chris Tucker, Omar, Don-E, Blu Cantrell, John Legend, Myron).

In between that time he also achieved a Bachelor of Music in Classical Piano from William Paterson University. Currently, he resides in London, touring the UK, Europe and North America with The Commitments, and The London Community Gospel Choir establishing himself internationally as an artist and putting together the long awaited debut album Sensual Feast.
